Add all ingredients except arrowroot powder to medium pot and gradually bring to medium heat, stirring regularly.
Once your mixture starts to simmer (usually around 5 minutes), mash the berries in the pot with a potato masher or another utensil of choice. Allow to simmer another 5 minutes.
Add arrowroot to the pot and stir to combine.
Keep your jam at a simmer (DON'T let it boil), and cook another 10-20 minutes or until it reaches your desired thickness (keep in mind that it will thicken a bit more as it cools). Ideally you want your jam thick enough that when you run a spatula through it, it takes a few seconds for the space to fill back up.
Remove from heat and allow to cool at room temp.
